The symposium is held at two extraordinary locations in Duesseldorf: "Haus der Universität Düsseldorf" (keynote speech) and Benrath Palace (symposium).

Haus der Universität Düsseldorf

This palace in the heart of Düsseldorf has been left by the foundation van Meeteren into the hands of the Heinrich-Heine-Universität (HHU). It serves as a place of information and advice, as well as the exchange of research, culture and education.

Benrath Palace and Park

(c) Stiftung Schloss und Park Benrath

In 1755 Elector Palatine Carl Theodor ordered court architect Nicolas de Pigage to build Benrath Palace. The building was finished in the 1770ies. Same as the palace, the park is a remarkable result of a (late) baroque development, which was superseded by the English landscape garden shortly afterwards.
